Op 1 februari 2008 is de 'Wet gedragsbeïnvloeding jeugdigen' in werking getreden. Dit is de evaluatie van deze wet en enige andere wijzigingen in het jeugdstrafrecht. Het onderzoek als geheel is niet alleen gericht op de procesmatige aspecten van de uitvoering (ontwikkelingen in de toepassing van de gedragsbeïnvloedende maatregel) en opvattingen daarover van betrokkenen uit de strafrechtsketen), maar ook op het 'plan', ofwel de veronderstellingen over de werkzaamheid van de 'Wet gedragsbeïnvloeding jeugdigen'. The Behaviour Modification (Young People) Act (Wet gedragsbeïnvloeding jeugdigen) entered into effect on 1 February 2008. A number of changes were made to the youth justice system in this context (Staatsblad 2007, 575). The purpose of these changes was to increase the possibilities for modifying the behaviour of young persons, among other things by means of the Behaviour Modification Measure (Gedrags Beïnvloedende Maatregel - GBM).
