What's in it
LBBG_IJMUIDEN - Lesser black-backed gulls (Larus fuscus, Laridae) breeding in IJmuiden (the Netherlands) is a bird tracking dataset published by the University of Amsterdam and the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) . It contains animal tracking data for the study LBBG_IJMUIDEN using trackers developed by the University of Amsterdam Bird Tracking System (UvA-BiTS, http://www.uva-bits.nl ). The study has been operational since 2019. In total 30 adult individuals of lesser black-backed gull ( Larus fuscus ) have been tagged in their breeding area on Forteiland, an island in IJmuiden harbour in the Netherlands. The main goal of the study is to identify intrinsic and external drivers of movement from fine scale flight behaviour to seasonal migrations and to study their flight behaviour and habitat use in and around offshore wind parks in the North Sea. Data are uploaded from the UvA-BiTS database to Movebank and from there archived on Zenodo (see https://github.com/inbo/bird-tracking ). Data collected since 2021 are not publicly available.
