Dataset containing the data underlying the publication titled "Improving Decision Quality in High-Tech System Design: An In-Depth Study Leveraging Industry Expertise". It consists of three parts:A file containing all data from a survey among 93 systems engineers from a high-tech company from the semiconductor industryA file containing all data from case studies at the same companySeveral figures resulting from analysing the survey data based on the systems engineers' backgrounds (position in the company and work experience) The purpose of the data collection was to gain insights into decision quality in systems engineering practice at a high-tech company that develops increasingly complex systems. Parts 1 and 2 were used together in triangulation; combining multiple sources of data for stronger results. The survey asked industry experts for their insights on their decision-making processes and on decision-making in general. All participants replied to a general request for filling in the survey that was distributed among the whole systems engineering department of the company. No further selection was done.
