Data underlying Chapter 2 of the PhD thesis: Organic acids and bipolar membrane electrodialysis for enhanced ammonia recovery from scrubber effluents

What's in it
This chapter assesses the suitability of organic acids as alternatives to sulphuric acid for ammonia recovery in air stripping–acid scrubbing technologies. It examines the influence of acid concentration on NH₃ scrubbing efficiency and total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) accumulation. Aspen Plus® was used to simulate the scrubbing process under varying operating conditions, while PHREEQC was used to examine aqueous speciation and pH evolution during NH₃ absorption. The underlying data comprise acid selection criteria, Aspen Plus® simulation files, PHREEQC input files and simulation results for the acids at different concentrations.
