The Oranje Lijst: historical agricultural and horticultural varieties cultivated or traded in the Netherlands, approximately 1850–1950
What's in it
The Oranje Lijst provides an overview of agricultural and horticultural varieties that were cultivated or traded in the Netherlands approximately between 1850 and 1950, with some exceptions outside this period. It brings together historical information on variety names, synonyms, crop types, breeders, parentage and years of documented use, as well as information on current availability from suppliers and genebanks. A subset of the records is marked as Dutch heritage varieties (Erfgoedrassen). The dataset was compiled by Sierd Zijlstra and Lau Simonse on behalf of the Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands (CGN), Wageningen University & Research. The supplied workbook contains 6,637 non-empty variety records covering 63 crops. The records reflect the state of the dataset at the version date stated above.
