DANS Data Station Social Sciences and Humanitiesvia DANS Data Stations (via DataCite) · updated 12 October 2026

What's in it

This dataset contains 19 anonymized semi-structured interview transcripts exploring the development, use, and potential role of sensor technologies in and for sustainable arable farming. Interviews were conducted with 20 stakeholders, including 12 Dutch farmers, 6 sensor manufacturers, and 2 agricultural scientists. The interviews examine perspectives on agricultural sustainability, technological innovation, sensor-based decision-making, ecological impacts, and the social and ethical implications of agricultural digitalization. Particular attention is given to how different understandings of sustainable agriculture shape technological development and use practices. The transcripts are provided in their original languages (Dutch and English), with identifying information anonymized to protect participant confidentiality. The dataset supports qualitative research on agricultural digitalization, responsible innovation, and sustainability transitions.
