Survey Data on Public Perceptions of Marine Cloud Brightening research, field trials and deployment in the Netherlands

This dataset contains survey data collected during a public engagement exercise on Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB) at Lowlands Science, the science programme of the annual Lowlands festival in the Netherlands. The study examined public perceptions of MCB research, outdoor field trials, and potential deployment, as well as changes in support following information provision and extreme climate-risk framing. Respondents also reported their familiarity with climate intervention, climate concern, perceived climate impacts, sustainability-related attitudes, and demographic characteristics. In addition, participants ranked arguments in favour of and against MCB and provided selected open-ended responses. The survey was conducted as part of Annelot Broerze’s PhD research at Delft University of Technology. The dataset is made publicly available as supplementary material for publications and the PhD thesis of Annelot Broerze, and for reuse by other researchers in accordance with the applicable license and data-protection requirements. Data collection was supported by Refreeze the Arctic Foundation and the TU Delft Climate Action Program Seed Fund.
