Experimental database and model predictions underlying the PhD dissertation Chapter 3: Modelling of Shear Behaviour of Reinforced Concrete Members without Shear Reinforcement: a mechanical framework with refined shear transfer mechanisms

Wat erin zit
This dataset comprises 53 published experimental records of dowel action in reinforced concrete and the corresponding predictions from five mechanical or simplified model cases. It was compiled in support of the dowel action model developed in Chapter 3 of Jiandong Lu's doctoral thesis (Delft University of Technology, 2026) and the related article by Lu, Yang, and Hendriks (Engineering Structures, 2024). The experimental information includes specimen dimensions, longitudinal reinforcement configuration, concrete compressive strength, available concrete tensile strength, and dowel force. The model comparison includes the proposed model using the originally reported tensile strength, the direct tensile strength from the fib Model Code, the splitting tensile strength from the literature, a proposed simplified approach, and the Baumann and Rüsch method. Excel and machine-readable CSV versions are provided, together with a README and data dictionary. The dataset collates values reported in existing studies; it is not a collection of raw time-series measurements from new tests.
