This dataset contains the underlying data for the dissertation entitled 'Sodium Borohydride as Granular Fuel: Experimental Characterisation and DEM Modelling'. Although the chapters in this thesis are also published separately and each links to its own dedicated dataset, the data is bundled and presented here. The main goal of the thesis is to investigate sodium borohydride (NaBH₄), a novel granular maritime fuel. The thesis is structured as follows: Chapter 1 introduces NaBH₄ in a maritime context and the research questions, Chapter 2 analyses the circular bunkering process required for adapting sodium borohydride as a maritime fuel, Chapter 3 presents the experimental characterisation, and Chapters 4 and 5 present DEM models to capture and predict its flow behaviour. The results of this thesis can be used to design reliable handling and storage systems. The data mainly contains experimental measurements, simulation files, and analytical scripts. We provide details regarding the used NaBH₄ samples and the methodologies used in each chapter, the obtained experimental dataset(s), and the developed numerical (DEM) simulation models.
